"My paintings are derived from my love of life. I'm attracted to the beauty of life all around me. I paint what I feel.
"My principle influences have been and are French and English painters including Cézanne because of his geometrical analysis and use in composition, Les Fauves (Matisse and Derain are my favourite Fauves) because they divorced colour from reality and used it for more direct communication of emotion, Constable for his lovely quick little paintings of cloud and sea and land from observation, and Turner because of his roiling emotion. But that changes too."
